Internships and Employment

Ideal interns will be personable, organized, independent student leaders wanting an opportunity to learn.  Internships can be credited or non-credited and have flexible schedules.  Internships are unpaid.  Come and join a stimulating work environment that shares a common goal of improving Oklahoma and our nation.  We are an equal opportunity employer. 

Dates and Hours
Dr. Coburn offers four intern sessions per year.  The fall session runs from September through December, the spring session runs January through May and there are two summer sessions. 


Duties
Each intern will assist the senator and his staff with administrative duties, legislative correspondence, research and press operations.  Interns will have an opportunity to observe the legislative process first hand and work as part of a dynamic and professional team.

Requirements
Applicants must have completed at least one year of study in an institution of higher education.  Oklahoma residents and/or students receive priority in the selection process.

Course Credit
We encourage students to seek course credit for their internship and are happy to work with any college program in helping the student fulfill the requirements to receive credit.
