Feds should cut fuel use, Senators say

Senators want agencies to cut fuel use.

A nonbinding sense-of-the-Senate resolution, introduced by Sens. John Warner, R-Va., and Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., asks the president to direct agencies to reduce their energy use. It comes at a time when average gasoline prices have increased by 30 cents a gallon in the past month.

“Just as individual citizens are finding ways to use less gasoline, the U.S. government should be finding ways to cut its consumption,” Bingaman said.
