National, Chestnut among road closings
Drivers are reminded that the intersection of National Avenue and Chestnut Expressway is closed until 6 a.m. Monday.
- The intersection of Eastgate Avenue and Catalpa Street closes for a month, beginning at 8 a.m. Monday. Watch for a marked detour while a water main connecting Fellows Lake with Blackman Treatment Plant is installed across Catalpa.
- One northbound lane of U.S. 65 will be closed at Farmers Branch bridge south of Evans Road.
- Lanes will be closed at night at Kearney and West Bypass.
- Paving will cause one-lane traffic on Route AA north of Springfield.
- The Interstate 44 rest areas near Conway will be closed for a year, beginning next week.
Existing facilities will be razed to make room for a Welcome Center with a theme of Route 66.
Federal highway enhancement funds will pay the $10.8 million for expanded rest rooms and parking, playground, picnic shelters and a visitors' center.
