Exactly How Much Housework Does a Husband Create?

Husbands create an extra seven hours a week of housework for wives, according to a new University of Michigan study. But wives save men from about an hour of housework a week. The findings are part of a detailed study of housework trends, based on 2005 time-diary data from a National Science Foundation-funded panel study of income dynamics. The University of Michigan's Institute for Social Research has conducted the panel study since 1968.
