(Washington D.C.) -- Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn continues his battle in Washington against what he considers pork.
He is blocking bills as Congress wraps up its session this week.

He says as they get near the end, so many pieces of legislation are being pushed he does not have time to read them and he will not vote for a bill he has not seen.

He says he came to Washington hoping to make a difference in the culture of the Senate as it relates to the country's finances.

He points out the money being spent is borrowed money and the federal deficit for the first two months of 2007 will be 132 billion dollars.

He says he knows he'll be "beat up" for his actions but it willing to hold his ground because he believes the future is worth it.

He says in many cases people in Washington do not want to get into confrontations over waste in the government.
